the Counselors of the College of International Education Conduct Home Visits to International Students Living Off-campus
In November 2020, the counselors of the College of International education conducted home visits to 37 international students currently living in China and off-campus one by one, focusing on the learning and life dynamics of international students off-campus and understanding their needs in a timely manner.
During the home visit, the counselors of the College of International Education have a detailed understanding of the current learning situation and family basic situation of the international students, remind students of their daily safety and learning precautions, and encourage students to communicate with counselors and keep in touch with them when they encounter problems. At the same time, the counselors of the College of International Education also pay special attention to the thought of students, pay attention to the mental health development of students, and let students pay attention to live in harmony with their neighbors in the community.
During the home visit, the counselors also learned whether the electricity and gas used in the students' homes were standardized, and publicized the knowledge of fire control, traffic safety and epidemic prevention to the students.
In order to better implement the safety responsibility of students, the counselors of the College of International Education ask the students to sign the letter of responsibility for international students' off-campus accommodation and the letter of responsibility for international students' safety of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) during the home visit.
In this home visit, the counselors of the College of International Education visited 37 international students from ten countries, including Turkmenistan, Sudan, Yemen and Niger, by "telephone appointment and visiting one by one", so that each student can feel the care from the school.
