In accordance with the State Council of China, this National Doctoral Forum has been formulated to consider the national long-term science and technology development plan (2006-2020) and its Graduate Education Innovation Plan projects. Approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council Office and the Ministry of Education Degree and Postgraduate Education Department, China University of Petroleum (Beijing) will host this 2012 National Doctoral Forum — ‘Future of Petroleum Engineers’.
The theme of this forum is to encourage the promotion of sustainable development of oil and gas resources and the corresponding oil and gas exploration, taking account of the most recent advances in science and technology. This approach is seen as the nucleus around which other disciplines related to oil and gas resources revolve, and which is seen as a starting point for oil and gas discussion. Students from around the world will be confronted with a high-level academic platform which will not only enable the promotion of academic exchanges, but will also expand their academic vision, inspire individual passion for innovation and scientific thinking, thus improving the quality of all levels of students including those studying for their doctorate.
For this international academic forum, conference papers are being submitted from outstanding representatives from the world’s oil and gas universities. The Forum will screen these papers and a compilation of the preferred papers will be extracted, whereupon authors will be invited to present their papers at the forum.
